These guys act like they're shocked that having military bases in the Middle East would make the US a target if an ally of ours attacked Iran. Don't like that risk, don't be over there in the first place. There clearly is a larger calculus which has determined that we need to have a military presence there even when all the countries there would be fine if Israel was obliterated.
