I have no idea if this article has any credibility or not, but it's fascinating

You'll see results like this through any medical intervention, whether it be surgery, drugs, or any other type of therapy, especially when the narrative describes only a select few case reports and studies.

There are many different types of surgeries and hormone therapy plans for which to undergo, so some treatment plans are bound to be better than others. The author underwent surgery in 1981, so the treatment plans are probably different now than what the author experienced.

There was a systematic review of M-to-F vaginoplasty published earlier this year that highlights the lack of research in this field, especially toward outcomes like quality of life.

It doesn't refute the claims of the article and I feel the author raises a valid point that this surgery is not a cure-all for all things related to gender dysphoria. However, I don't know if people who undergo sex reassignment surgery are expecting it to cure everything, especially if they have underlying depression and suicidal ideation.
