I have the Oregon State version as well with the husky holding a chainsaw.

Duck is mighty tasty! I have always thought Eugene should go all in on the duck foodie capital of the country. Be to duck what Central Texas is to brisket, Buffalo for their style of chicken wings, or Scott, LA is to boudin. Just seems natural.

A "Husky" is not only a breed but a type. Like a herder, or sporting dog, or spaniel.

Here's the def: Husky is a general term for a dog used in the polar regions, primarily and specifically for work as sled dogs.

The Saint Bernard- Scottish Sheperd mix, Buck, in the classic Jack London novel "Call of the Wild" was a Husky. See we were all into DEI a century before it was a thing. Bad ass muscular dogs who can put up with any climate and will run til they die.

It's the best mascot ever.
