I'd sue the piss out of the university of Oklahoma and the national SAE organization. I expect many of the members to do just that. If I was the kid caught on video Id sue the university and national fratern a l organization. No law broken, no "hate" speech, no civil rights violations TECHNICALLY.

Just a couple of ignorant kids acting out what their bigot parents taught them. They intended no physical harm on black people. There was no intent to physically hang black students. Just an ignorant and stupidly racist chant. But to their defense, no physical harm intended. Plus there was no contract signed to prevent such said free speech upon attending OU. Defense attorneys are licking their chops over this.

what about the rest of the fraternity? Are they racist? Why should they be expelled. Id sue till I was blue in the face over this.

Guess the 1st amendment doesnt apply to bigots.

Right, which is why law enforcement isn't involved. Instead, they broke school policy and fraternity policy. If you break those policies, you're gonna get kicked out. Which is what happened.

Those dude brahs are fucked. They live in university approved housing, they die by whatever university says.

Their only hope is is the mega buck OU benefactors are SAE alums. Then there might be a chance at some lighter punishment. But it won't be for a couple more years until they'd be allowed to recolonize that chapter.

Was the university policy made apparent and can a university stifle free speech?
 
I agree the bus racists (just 2) should be brought to a university trial, then a legal trial. Then expulsion is warranted if university policy and or SAE policy was broken. But an education cannot be denied an individual for personal beliefs and the 1st amendment's boundries. That's all. The campus black frat should just do a little old-school hazing on these punks and call it good

According to their website, the policy is in their student handbook under the student code of conduct. Says violators of this policy will face punishment outlined by the student code (http://www.ou.edu/regents/policy.html).

The university can't stifle "free speech", but the university (and the state of Oklahoma) can set their own policies.
 
It's the same kind of faggot (75k) conduct clause my company makes you sign every year. It is intentionally vague. That way, if you pull some stupid bullshit and they need to toss you under the bus for it, they can without worrying too much about lawsuits.

My company just changed the cell phone policy. It used to be they reimburse you so much per month. Now you have to sign an agreement that basically says the company can monitor your phone, read emails, texts, etc. I said fuck that. I'll happily foot my own bill than to sign some bullshit contract making me liable for reading what puppy says when he's off his meds.
 
I agree about getting kicked out of housing and disbanded, but something feels off about full on expulsion from class.

Maybe it's the Rugby team tour bus that has me sympathizing with some drunken chanting , although I never sang any racist crap, I've definitely had my fair share of fucked up lyrics (Jesus can't play rugby because he's got holes in his hands, Jesus can't play rugby because the Jew won't pay his dues, etc.)

These dudes were fucking idiots, but we are crossing Donald sterling territory here as far as what we can and can't say in our own space. Label them as you will, but you can't deprive someone their education because a drunken song on a private bus.
