Maybe, but how would a large population survive without agriculture?
They also started living in much closer proximity to each other

The easiest way to think about this is that wheat "domesticated" humans over the course of thousands of years and we? didn't even know what was happening. Harari argues that hunter gathering societies had a better higher standard of living in terms of food and labor than almost all peasants throughout most of recorded history. Reliance on 1 crop led to worse nutrition and higher risk of famines. Hunter gatherers didn't have the same famine risk since they had multiple food sources (and lower populations).
That said, you can't get to 20th century standard of living without the agricultural revolution and even our pours have a way higher standard of living than hunter gatherers.

I also think it's silly for the pure carnivore bros to use the agricultural revolution as some sort of efficacy. As if the choice we have today is between eating all ribeyes and eggs or only bread/rice…

That's a critical point. The agricultural revolution was great for human expansion (and survival as a species). It just sucked to be a peasant farmer is all.
