It started when Gil Dobie ran the "bunk play." One player takes off with the "football" -- really his leather helmet held like a football. Center did the hike motion but landed on a couple of guards, so he wasn't down and kept the ball. The center then scored. Later, the play was made illegal.

It was 1987 I believe and Oregon hadn't won at home against the Huskies since the First World War or something. I thought why not take the wife and kids to the Oregon like when I was a kid and join tens of thousands of Husky fans at Autzen
That turned out to be the first win at home against the Huskies since the earth cooled.
We're walking across the field to get the fuck out of there and the meth mob descends on us. My wife did not tell me to take a breath and cool down. She said let's throw down on these motherfuckers
From that day forward we were not allowed to even stop for gas in Oregon driving through on trips to California.
Thank goodness they expanded and priced seats out of the range of the REAL Oregon fans
