Y’all don’t follow the Cougs as close as I do. So I understand why you think He hasn’t done this in Pullman before. But He Has done this before, multiple times and it’s worked.
I’m not sure it will this time though as this defense is the worst He’s had since 2014 and maybe ever. Tons of soft Cougs crying on twitter about it. They seem to forget about location, money and the Doba and Wulff years.
But The real problem is the never ending poaching of assistants by Oregon and other schools. It has finally caught up to the program on the defensive side of the ball. The Cougs haven’t had great defenses during their recent success. They relied on being near the top of the conference in sacks, tfls and forced turnovers. But that’s not happening this Season and therefore the deficiencies aren’t masked.
The overall recruiting rankings haven’t changed in the Leach era, Usually bottom 3 in the conference, just as they were under Doba and Wulff. But the last 2 or 3 cycles on defense have been atrocious.
