@PurpleBaze have you tried ceramic brake pads? Cut down on 90% of the brake dust on my wheels (which are almost black in color).

No, I haven't gone that route yet. I'd hate to swap brake pads right now. They car had 5100 miles on it when I bought it. I've probably put 600-700 on it myself. The brakes are in great shape, so I won't be changing pads until it's time. I'll consider ceramic pads when the time comes.

Not really. Never directly. I have a foam cannon setup and quit bothering with it since, in reality, all that method really does is pre-soak the panels on the car. It doesn't actually make it so you can spray foam and, blast foam off, and the car is clean. Looks cool in the YouTube videos, but the hassle getting all that stuff set up isn't worth it. If you want dirt to release/blast off of the paint really easily you need to have a ceramic coating on the paint.
I used to do the two-bucket method for washing which is one bucket of soapy water, one bucket of clean water. You use the clean water bucket to rinse the wash mitt after cleaning a section of the car at a time. The problem I found with that method is that by rinsing the mitt in a bucket of clean water you introduce a bunch of 100% water back in to the soap bucket and end up diluting the soap bucket with too much water which can impact the lubricity that the soapy water is supposed to have at a proper dilution.
So now I just use a grit guard in the bottom of my soap bucket and scrub the mitt against it after each panel. Does a good job of keeping the actual dirt at the bottom of the bucket rather than it getting back on the mitt and then rubbing against the paint.
Typing this out, I realize how nerdy this all sounds. This is the tip of the spear with how wonky some of this car detailing stuff can get.

Just seeing this now. I bought one of those buckets with the grit guard from Chemical Guys recently. Haven't had a chance to use it yet.
 
If you change from organic to ceramic pads, you'll want either new rotors or bead blast the ones you've got. You'll need to remove the old pad material from the rotors or you'll lose a ton of performance.

when I get around to it, I have my car detailed because I can. My cars also a piece of shit so I’m more concerned with the inside being spotless which is tough with heathens. Fucking pollen is real in the upstate so between details it’s through the car wash for the skittles smelling enjoyment.
 
I used to be pretty into it when I did sales.
Now no one sees it and I just get it washed whenever.
Although I don’t eat or anything in it so it’s pretty clean usually
 
I'm in clean-car hell right now…a couple weeks ago, a fine, upstanding resident of my county was following me as I pulled up to a stoplight on a state road / HWY. I felt a rather large bump, looked into the rear view, nothing was there. I pulled over, hit the hazards, and got out.
40 yards behind me was a mid-80's Bronco (junker), with the driver in the middle of the road, picking up the front left tire / wheel from his chariot, which collided with my back bumper. At least he had insurance. Now, I look at my car in disgust, and DGAF about cleaning it. New bumper incoming, then I will clean it…csb

Last Wednesday, I had the car ceramic coated. Looks so much better and it's staying clean.
Since I'm back on the bored for now, figured I'd poast a fupdate.

Cleans good. Didn’t get the sunscreen stains out of the Toyota though. Interestingly enough our Audi vinyl doesn’t stain from sunscreen even after it being left in place for days.

Cleans good. Didn’t get the sunscreen stains out of the Toyota though. Interestingly enough our Audi vinyl doesn’t stain from sunscreen even after it being left in place for days.

What material is that sunscreen on?
I had that gross kids zinc sunscreen stained on the plastics at the tailgate of our Telluride and they cleaned up pretty quickly.
