Not quite a lifetime contract, but it's a start. Actually surprised the total is less considering he money coaches are demanding and he just ass-blasted Fischer,who makes an obscene amount, in the rose bowl.

He's got about the same deal Chip had. I don't think anyone including Slingblade thinks he is better than Chip, so the contract seems pretty fair.

If Petersen wanted it he'd be your coach and I'm pretty sure taking over Oregon is a fair bit easier than taking over Washington

I don't believe that Oregon would have gone after Petersen and disrupted the continuity that they have going. I think Petersen knew that as well.

Maybe Woody took a page from Hedges playbook, hire a coach based on his success at beating Oregon???

You don't rise to prominence with a system that has been passed on from within for years (particularly after Kelly's tweaks), given your school its identity, and most importantly stocked with personnel suited for it; just to throw it away on a rebuild of style when your all everything QB is ready to go.

I don't think Oregon would have hired Saban quite honestly.

You guys do what you do, it's almost good enough, if you had Meyer you'd go the distance.

REAL national powers fire a championship coach and hire another one. Helfrich has yet to prove that. Oh I forgot he won a Rose Bowl**!

Quooks thinking they are so far above every high caliber coach after they extend fucking Helfless is special.
