Hardcore Husky Podcast: Suddenly we're terrified of Arizona

Okay that's hyperbolic, but this Husky defense inspires no confidence after the 45-38 loss at ASU playing against a walk-on quarterback of a 1-4 team in front of 1,500 fans. It was the familiar land of giving up 14 yards and 3rd and 12s and missed tackles and all the rest. In theory this 4-2 Husky team still has a Holiday Bowl berth to play for. But the defense is trending so badly that it's hard to see this team beating anyone other than Colorado and Cal in the weeks ahead. In this pod, the boys discuss the ASU loss and also speculate on what moves DeBoer needs to make and whether he and AD Cohen will deem to make them. Shout outs this week go to @GrundleStiltzkin, @AtomicDawg, @PurpleBaze, @LawDawg1 and @Fenderbender123. TheKnowledge had some thoughtful questions but the pod didn't ignore them we just ran out of time.

You guys are terrified of Arizona? Husky Stadium is a safe place. Pass rush will magically return.

I guess it’s one of those you had to have been there type things

Arizona sucks. They haven't been competitive in Seattle in a long time.

And the hype behind them was way overblown. Colorado is going to be their only conference win.

AZ can score points but they cannot stop the run. Your backfield should feast.

Two very similar teams with the edge in talent going to UW.

That said, if y’all find a way to lose, the wheels are off and you’re looking at a 4th-5th place finish in the PACn

I can't remember when we were joking about that if it was during the show or before we started recording

Before but I wanted an angry Haie so I gave vague details

And over at doogman they are claiming the number one thing we learned from the ASU game is that "the curse is real". Pick-6's that bounce off your lineman's head can only be explained by "CURSE!", not a crappy throw by your QB.

Makes you wonder why we even show up to play. Just forfeit and save some money and get ready for those non-cursed games.

I am continually in awe at just how idiotic these people are. We just had a backup QB on a team without a coach who had won only one 1 game this year make our DB's look like this was the first time they had suited up for a football game. But what we learned is that Curses are real.

It takes exactly as much faith to believe it ISN'T a curse. Ever thought of that? You've gotta keep up with the religion pole.

Its hard beating a backup QB and RB assistant HC

Over the last 2 games, ASU and UCLA have had 19 possessions. Our defense has prevented the other team from scoring only 6 times, and 2 of those were punts because the other team was trying to run clock at the end of the game.

But let's blame curses.

Good thing is they might never have to play there again unless they move some bowl game for teams that go 6-6 in the Big Ten there.

Player were crying in the locker room?! Penix was holding back tears at the presser. Really, when have you ever heard ‘players were crying’? If true, what a bunch of pussies. Maybe they held each other on the flight home.
