They've been slowly attacking various major holidays for decades. It started with Xmas in the 80s and 90s. The excuse was that everyone didn't celebrate it and we must be respectful and sensitive to other religions. Then they moved on to Thanksgiving, and now it's the 4th of July. Those are representative of white privilege, or supremacy, or patriarchy, or insert the word salad. Halloween is bad because kids might have fun and the kids from Africa or the Middle East might not get it.
