Greatest College Football Teams Since 2000

Saw this offseason fodder and thought it was enough UW related to not just go on the College Football Board. Some UW observations -
-Nice to see 2016 Alabama so high. That team was in the conversation as greatest team of all-time but completely got written off because they lost one game as time expired on a pick play with Massage Rape having an all time game. Sucks 2016 UW ran into that team.
-2000 Miami should maybe be higher than 16 Alabama. Massive UW beat them and their ranking is deserved. I think UW could have beaten Oklahoma that year but would not have liked a Miami rematch.
-It's good for 2023 UW's legacy that 2023 Michigan has been rightly regarded as such a great team. I actually would have rather played a team like 2019 LSU that was better on offense but not as elite on defense.
-Don't think any UW teams deserve the Top 25. 2023 could have have an argument had they taken Michigan to the wire, but they still would have been dogged about playing down to so many opponents.

2013 fsu way too high. I’d make the argument they’re the worst champion since 2000 (up there with 2007 lsu).

Don’t forget (re: 2016 Bama) that Booger Eater completely abandoned the run, which kept massage rape in that game.

Didn't put any thoughts not connected to UW but they stick out like a sore thumb. Weird year. They beat an Auburn team that should have lost at home to the Coug to win it all.
2020 Alabama is too high especially given how weird covid made that season. They certainly don't deserve over 2004 USC, who should also be ahead of 2005 Texas. I think if 2005 USC and Texas play 10 times, USC wins 9.
2002 Miami needs to be in the Top 25 too.
 
The main factors I looked for were:
  1. Season-long dominance (using average scoring margin)
  2. Big wins (using end-of-season AP poll rankings)
  3. Schedule strength (using https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/’s ratings)
  4. Elite talent (using NFL Draft numbers over a three-year span)
  5. No bad losses (either a blowout, or to a mediocre opponent)
The teams at the top of the list checked every box. The teams further down were very good but missing one or two of those criteria.
