I have wondered if it's something they were born with or not. I've always been under the impression that victims are much more likely to grow up and also commit that crime. Although that information comes mostly from Loveline.

Pedophilia is almost "incurable" as far as psychological disorders go. Also, the guys who watch kiddy porn almost inevitably progress through to "touching" eventually. There's a 10-year study on this topic conducted on inmates at Butner Federal Prison (where the Fed system sends most of the kiddy touchers) that confirms this.
