I can't imagine the twats in Brussels allowing that to happen. It did absolutely cripple Iran though. It's the ultimate hammer, but rarely used. EU doesn't have the balls here.

There isn’t that much to do to get that setup. Kazakhstan, Belarus, Azerbaijan and China are among the willing partners that share borders and have similar exports. You’d have to cut off a whole bunch of others too, which will never happen. Would be the end of the dollar as well. But if you were serious about sanctions that’s what you would do.
