Part of it is playing a couple of terrible defenses but he has been playing 100x better than I thought. Dont think these video game numbers will keep up but he looks like he will have a respectable year.
Amazing what happens when you have a QB that trusts and steps up into the pocket instead of instantly spinning around like a whirling dervish hoping to hit a playground home run ball. Or one who looks for the 8-12 yard throws the offense is designed for instead of holding onto the ball trying to get 30-40 yards and eventually turning a 5 yard sack in a 15 yarder.

Peak Russ was his early years. When his skills/tools supplemented the offense when they were needed. Sure his numbers look better since he started playing hero ball because he passes way more, but the offenses become so stagnant and rely on miracle moon balls (which he is great but it isn’t sustainable).
