They always seem to be able to win 8 to 10 games because the ACC usually sucks (yes SEC>>ACC). I remember a few years ago they lost to Boise Community College in that Labor Day game, then lost to James Madison or some Patriot League nothing, then won 9 or 10 straight and won the ACC, or at least their little division of it.
