Flawed Overtime Rules Stole Game From Aaron Rogers...

USA: NFL Overtime rule was unfair to Aaron Rogers...

"Could there be a more thrilling end to an NFC Championship Game? Unfortunately we’ll never know. Russell Wilson’s touchdown bomb to Jermaine Kearse gave Seattle an overtime victory over Green Bay that will not be forgotten soon by anyone who watched it. Especially by Aaron Rodgers, who could do nothing but watch it." Mark Whicker, USA Today

In the case of this NFCCG, a classic quote was reversed.

Winners whine about giving their best, losers go home and let people believe you're going to fuck Olivia Munn

Fixed.

Piss on these fucking turds.

How about you go for it on 4th and goal from the 1/4 yard line ... twice.

or

Go for a couple down field shots instead of settling for a tie.

Piss off.

The GB QB didn't get a shot when Hasslebeck threw a pick six ... fuck off.

I wasn't a fan of the old OT rules where the first score won. NFL kickers are too automatic from 50 in, with some able to hit from 60. The rules now are fine. If you can't stop the other team from driving 88 yards for a TD, you don't deserve to win.

NFL overtime sucks, college rules get it right.

Love college rules, but fuck ... I was exhausted yesterday ... those rules would have fucking crushed me.

You are absolutely right. A college overtime would have caused thousands of 911 calls in Seattle. Flip the coin and let's play football!

But when Coin Flip is your MVP, the rules might be a problem.

If only Mike McCarthy had been allowed to go for the win in regulation...

I think the problem was the fact that Green Bay wore Kenny Wheaton's old uniform. Where is the uniform thread on this game?

Win the toss and you win overtime 48.5% of the time.

Loose the toss and you win overtime 51.5% of the time.

It used to be ridiculous. It was something like 70/30. I still think each team should get a chance, even after the Denver and GB games. Seattle would have probably won a nyway.

I heard it has to do with TV Advertising Contracts. If the NFL ever had a super long playoff game, (like Miami, KC years ago), they wouldn't make any money because they would be running commercials for free because the can't anticipate that in the ad contracts.
