Yep. Pete is maddening because get a passing grade here but he could have been a contender if he wasn't such a burned out stubborn fuck.

I should have been kinder to the Oracle of Волгоград @FireCohen all these years.

I’m still grateful for what he did for the program, blah, blah, but I finally figured out with the benefit of 20/20 hindsight that he was a little too concerned about his system and his personal brand.

If Pete didn’t burn out (and I don’t blame him for that, the man would’ve been eaten alive in this NIL/realignment era), we wouldn’t have gotten Lake as HC whose firing led to Kalen DeBoer being hired (which has worked out well so far). So I appreciate that.
 
I liked Pete's comment about how your first 2 years are throwaway years.

In 2015 he had his playoff roster intact + had a better/deeper pass rush with Feeney and Littleton and only won 7 games.

I love Petersen still. Years 3-5 with him were a blast. Sucks he never won a big bowl game as they ran into 3 absolute buzz saws.

He’s also a great speaker too, he was flawless on that segment.
