The west coast has a dearth of really good linemen. And it's hard to compete with USC, ucla, oregon, a ranked oregon state, stanford, and arizona schools that are serious about football. Don James just got lucky with emptermann because he was only a 1star and his only other offer was as a walk on to Eastern.
