While Race (once again?) quotes Sark's admonition for Husky Football to "finish" the damn game, it's the way his kick-off defenders started the latest loss that fucked his game plan, if he actually had one. The deep and experienced Dawgs fought back time after time after time to "finish"..... just to stand on the sideline watching their rookie kick-off defending teammates screw the pooch again and again and again.
Hard to understand how any mega-$million per year coach could get misty after watching his veterans kick butt for 58 minutes in a commendable effort to "finish" on the road against a Top Ten opponent while a pack of pups wasted two minutes trying to find Tree #7. That's the thing about defending against kick-offs that all coaches regardless of pay scale should know...... their rookies have to be able to spray the side of a barn on The Farm before they can be expected to leave their mark on a Tree.
Practice, practice, practice...... where was the special team's preparation in Sark's plan for 'finishing" and winning at Stanford? Scott Woodward should do his struggling head coach a favor and fire the special teams coach, whoever he is, for being so un-special. I'm so sick and tired of this doggy-do we've been stepping in now for ten years.
