I’m finding in some instances it’s cheaper to fly to college Station and Rent-A-Car and then drive to Houston. Looks like about an hour and a half drive or so.

Flying in on Sunday should avoid most traffic on that route. If you're forced to fly in on Monday, don't land in the afternoon. That drive could easily be three hours with traffic.

I saw College Station and even Austin as options on American Airlines but a. I hate American Airlines and b. The flight price/times/connections/return flights were all ass. The best priced flight went into College Station and out of Port Arthur.

Looked this up. Don’t work for saving money for my route unfortunately. Thanks for the idea though.

Iirc you said you were flying out of the southwest? Did you look at jsx?

It’s a semi private airline but can be pretty affordable on random legs. Most routes are in the sw. They fly destin to Houston, not sure where you’re flying from in the SE though.
