Kinda sounds like an endorsement of Chris Petersen's approach which, incidentally, seems to be garnering it's share of interest and commitments from 4* recruits.
So at almost all cost, coaches are trying to get recruiting classes that are ranked highly by the “experts”. Ironically, the experts are usually people who are self-appointed and know little to not much about college football.
Sidney Jones and Will Dissly come to mind. Jones was ranked as a low 3 star and looks like a future All Pac-12 CB and Dante Pettis was a low ranked guy as well. Dissly was totally off the radar but has looked good when he's played.
Was it easier to recruit guys from JC in the 80's and 90's than it is now? It seems like it but I don't know for sure.
