Have to wonder how much Deboer felt he was locked in for a long time. The level of recruit Kienholz was and with the thought that Penix was 90% gone after this year since he transferred in, you would have thought LK would be working on enrolling early to start fighting for the job in Spring. Instead his hotline was open for old Black Beard. I feel like you hear stories from recruits all the time that they got calls later in their recruitment from bigger, better programs but they didn't even really entertain it because they were locked in.
