Trump Administration approves $1.4B plan to help western NC rebuild after Helene
ASHEVILLE, N.C. (FOX Carolina) - The North Carolina Governor’s Office announced on Friday that the Trump administration approved plans for a large grant to help the western part of the state after Hurricane Helene.
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development approved North Carolina’s plan for a $1.4 billion grant to rebuild housing and infrastructure.
“This is great news for western North Carolina,” said Governor Josh Stein. “I thank the Trump Administration for moving quickly to approve this plan so we can get busy rebuilding people’s homes.”
Once HUD certifies the state’s financial controls for the program, North Carolina can sign an agreement to receive federal funds

Again, if true, and that's a big if, this will be a fight against socialism the likes of which California has never seen before. It will most definitely be entertaining.
My gut tells me this is a rumor. I just don't see how the low life rats in CA would even dream this could be a good idea, but they think it's a great idea to put men in restrooms with girls so with that crowd anything is possible.

That's some of the most valuable real estate in the world. To a corrupt state drowning in debt, I can totally see them seizing it

Lol this is California, they've done it many times historically.
They literally use imminent domain for just basic development for the tax base.
I.e. take an attractive piece of real estate, seize it on the basis that further development will increase tax revenues, pay pennies on the dollar, turn around and sell it to private developers for a profit to the state, developers do their thing and new valuations for taxes are locked in, $ profit.
They've done it all up and down the coast. The only new thing in this instance is that it actually burned down first instead of the state seizing it first because these people had enough pull to have fought it.
