Condolences to “everyone involved.” Bullshit. One girl beat another girl to within an inch of her life. She may yet die, and she likely will be brain-damaged. The only condolences are due to the victim and her family. As for the rest, the girl who assaulted her should be prosecuted for, at a minimum, attempted murder, and sent to prison for decades. Those who stood by and did nothing can’t, legally, be prosecuted, but they should be shamed and ostracized for the rest of their lives. They don’t need “emotional support” from a “crisis team.” They need to be taught what it means to be a human being. But that obviously won’t happen in the St. Louis public school system or, evidently, in their homes.

Mankind has a deep seated desire for tribalism. From actual tribalism to some of the deep affection that us Ducks have received from some of the Huskies on the Tug. Much of our residual tribalism is harmless, much isn't. Once upon a time in social studies we were taught about the melting pot, the content of our character versus the color of our skin, and E Pluribus Unum. All designed to create common ground. Now it is Push 2 for Spanish, that white people are colonizers and that black people are too stupid to operate a computer or secure ID. As we revert to real tribalism something has to give. When the Palis hate the Jews more than they love their kids, things won't get better. The dazzler likes to make fun of me discussing his desire to control the behavior of conservatives. Like he doesn't want that to his very core. We will have a very consequential election in November. The reinstatement of dem overt Tribalism and a rejection of the Enlightenment is on the ballot.
