WELLPINIT, Wash. – After most school districts across the state have moved away from Native American mascots, students at a school on the Spokane Indian Reservation have decided to keep theirs: the Wellpinit Redskins.

To others in the community, it’s still a name of pride and honor.

School board President Terry Payne said it was never derogatory to her.

“My kids all grew up Redskins,” she said. “I’m glad that we are able to keep it.”

A pain-in-the-ass Native American administrator from Seattle moved North and a year later came the push to change all the high school mascots for being - wait for it - "harmful" to Native Americans. She may be in the 2% of NAs who care about that shit, but most whiteys still abhor the thought of being called racist and will go to their graves trying to prove they aren't. Fools.

I do not give a single solitary fuck if some non-white person calls me a racist. It's become the easiest, laziest, and sleaziest label one can foist upon another, and besides, everyone in the world can be twisted into a racist for almost anything, including owning a home in an area that once, centuries ago, barred blacks, Jews, Irish, Italians, and on and on and on.

It's 2023 and white-on-everything racism is nowhere near the problem race hustling grifters want it to be.

The fucking crazy about Jimmy Lake's alma mater - the Tribe itself ok'd all design work in the school, ok'd the presentation of the culture, participated in the whole shebang. Nebraska classy.

Some little twit 15 year old said the mascot made her 'feel' bad and raise a massive protest. School board caved.

There was overwhelming support in the hood for keeping the name.

Every group has it's lunatic fringe of activists. Natives are no different. But I assure you the vast majority of Injuns care much more about the shit all working class people care about than this garbage. Good schools. Fentanyl epidemic in the communities. Affordable housing. Jobs with a living wage. Rising energy costs. Normal people trying to make a living don't gaf what the Cleveland Indians are calling themselves these days.

It's the guilty white progressive Twitter mob that cares. Nothing is more important to these people than being agitated and having a cause, whether the people they are "helping" want it or not.
