BTW - IF a team could get 4 yards on every play, they would score a TD on every drive, never attempting a field goal and never punting. They would likely be national champs. 4 yards on first down is a decent play.

I echo the work that Grundle has done with the breakdowns on the GIFs.
When it comes to the details, this is where you really start seeing it. Yes, some of it is in play calling. But really, details are tied into execution and doing the little things necessary to get the play to work.
In the two play sequence above, credit obviously goes to Smith for using one play to set up the other. And in the second play, having the scheme of the play show one thing to the LBs who are reading the OL for their keys while the play goes the other direction. But the play is made by Campbell making a great block on the edge (something that will never show up in the stats but shows where Campbell provides value at the WR position) and by Perkins for busting his ass to spring the play with one of the best blocks you'll ever see from a TE in space.
The details are that the sum of the parts is greater than the sum of the individual. The details are that the individual stats don't matter. The details are finding a way to make the 8 yard play on 3rd and 7 instead of making the move that might result in either a 5 yard gain or a 20 yard gain. It's understanding game situations. It's understanding time and circumstances (hardy har har re: Arizona).
The play sequence is further encouraging because of those factors. You're starting to see the details show up far more frequently. It's definitely not perfect yet. But a well coached team is one that gets better each and every week. We're seeing that here.
And let's be honest, there probably was a little Norman Dale in Chris Petersen this year in that he had to break the colts down a bit before they were ready to run like a well oiled machine.
