Borghi's td run called back in Q2 on Asa's "hold"

So WSU pulls a guard who has no one to block (no surprise as we've watched that 9 times this year) with Borghi behind him.

Asa comes up to fill the hole, and I have never seen what happens next . He goes and ENGAGES the guard instead of the ball carrier who proceeds to house it. From 50 yards away the back judge throws a flag after seeing how the play was unfolding when in essence I wasn't sure it was a hold to begin with, but had no direct outcome on how the play was going to end.

It's been beat to death and Asa is who he is. I know Cam is hurt, but how in the living f is he the best option back there? As a coach I would put in a true freshman/walkon/play single high safety/switch a corner to that position/etc etc before watching that.

 
Why did hampton get benched after starting? Dude hits and makes some plays.

Hampton still got a lot of snaps. I didn't take note of where he was lining up, but it seemed like he was on the field more often than not. He made a couple of nice plays too.

My bad wasn't guard I just saw a big guy engorf our Safety and assumed it was a guard leading the convoy.
 
Even if he's taught to push it back inside who would have been there for help? The other safety is 25 yards away from play. There were 2 other corners plus sideline as defenders if you at least make him run outside.

It’s bad but the way he hit the outside of the guard I think he did have contain on that play. The guard still stoned him back inside. He sucks and is the softest player I’ve ever seen, but still.

I love how the other safety is furiously backpedalling as the runner bursts through the initial hole.
 
You just don't get it. Asa's playing 4D chess too. My Coug fren next to me was like "what the fuck happened on that play?" I was like you don't understand the Pete/Quitkowski/Dead Jimmy/Boob Gregory D - you try to get the other team to make a mistake instead of make the play yourself.
