I was told by all the draftniks that his checkdown numbers were overblown. He looked horrible.
I didn't see the game, but he's a rookie making his first start. Cut him some slack. I'd say the same thing to anyone criticizing Penix.

Nix being 1-0 against Oregon, 0-3 against UW, and 0-1 now against the Seahawks is my favorite stat line since Taki Taimani going 0-7 in the rivalry. I have no beef with him though and it's kind of ridiculous to bury QBs on their first NFL start, man, especially in Lumen with the 12s roaring. He was also beyond putrid against Georgia in his first start at Oregon and then shredded the Pac-12 and never didn't have a good game again in college.

cant believe im saying this but to be fair to dix, he was making his first nfl start on the road. i think payton will help him get his reads down and i dont overly love that donks roster.
fwiw, take this with a grain of salt, i thought jimmy clausen would be a good qb but again, to be fair, he did have to get his reads down in carolina, not sure anyone could do that. and spare me the 'cam did it,' cam built different.

61 college starts don't mean much in your first NFL start. Check back in November or next season

They used to give quarterbacks three or fours years to acclimate, and two of those years were on the bench. I'm not judging him, but it's fun to throw it back in the faces of the coddled, blowhard Ducks on here. I know some still lurk, especially Blob.

The positive is at least thus far it certainly looks like Gabriel isn't near the QB Nix was and that Nix may have been carrying a lot of water for that offense the past couple of years. I laugh knowing that not a single one of the cfb fake media and Twitter doofuses even dared consider that.

This isn’t about bad takes. It’s about the lack of takes. This is someone complaining that the “national media” allegedly didn’t say Bo Nix was carrying Oregon.
Nobody here said it either. In fact they said he was a check down merchant who wasn’t any good. In fact this very thread started with author saying he wasn’t good because he’s bad in the NFL.

My take is that it's aggravating that I had to listen to and try to avoid eight months of media and social media bs shoving it down everyone's throats like fucking foie gras ducks that Oregon was actually going to be better this year than they were last year and replacing Nix, who legit never didn't have a good game in his career for two years other than against 2022 Georgia, was gonna be super easy. It also helped get Oregon super overrated in the preseason poll which could help them get a playoff spot down the road.
I don't get 1/10,000th of a shit if the media would have said Oregon was carried by Nix or not last year even if now it looks like he was more than it was suggested.
