I should go back to Deception Pass again but Cape Disappointment is always one that has stuck with me.

Palouse Falls is special but driving there sucks, especially with the dirt road off the highway.

Need to visit Mt Spokane

Edit: Mt Constitution in Moran is phenomenal, too.

Deception Pass is great but not for camping. All of that freedom flying overhead sucks. Plus Whidbey has an influx of retards like most of western Washington.

Cape Disappointment still feels like you’re in the sticks, because you are. Not really anything else like it out there.
 
If you never been to Moran State Park on Orcas Island, you should visit. The park is huge and is home to Mt. Constitution which is the second tallest point on an island in the lower 48, multiple lakes, and waterfalls.
 
Grew up a few miles from Deception Pass and did sixth grade camp at Moran.

Funny, I appreciated Deception Pass a lot more recently, decades later, than I did when I was younger and it was an annoyingly slow and busy spot on the highway.

Sun Lakes is great. I really enjoyed 25 Mile Creek on Lake Chelan as well, but the trip from Anacortes to Orcas and the view from the top of Constitution make Moran unbeatable.
 
Deception is the best. Yeah it's gotten crowded but if you actually walk more than 100 feet from your car there's a lot to like.

The 'fort' state parks are all pretty amazing as well. Casey, Ebey, Worden, and Flagler. I'd put Worden at the end of those. Some excellent star gazing at Ebey.

Cape Dissapointment which is how @PurpleBaze feels about me at the moment, which I'm trying to take in stride, is a gem as well.

Almost all the parks along the Grand Coulee are also exceptional, Dry Falls / Sun Lakes, and Steamboat Rock are excellent for their water access.
 
Sympathy vote. Boring AF park. It is a good place to launch a boat with ready access to good fishing. Also a popular kite boarding site.

Mt. Spokane is nice. M'eh kind of ski area but close to town so up and back for night skiing used to be a thing.

The most popular state park in the Spokane area is Riverside State Park.

Rolled around with a sororitute there one time so still have fond memories.

I haven't been there in years, but I spent every summer (after baseball was over) until I was 15 at Potholes. First, kiss, first beer (a warm stolen Olympia from my gramps), first cigar...my grandparents had a trailer permanently at MarDon, one of the first to go in, IIRC. Riding dirt bikes, fishing every day, water skiing, playing cards at night, just being a kid...I went by there 20 years ago, pulled into the parking lot, and shed a few tears, so many memories...EWa...

Not really a bad choice here since I think I’ve been to every one of these.

Rasar near Concrete is cool.
Pearrygin in Winthrop is fun.
Alta Lake is a good time for boating and golf.

Northern State is right in my neck of the woods and they’re really putting in a lot of work into it. Lots of history in that place. It’s just trails and abandoned barns right now but I think in a few years there could be more things coming.

Funny Northern State story:

My wife does photo shoots there sometimes when clients want a more textured and less natural environment. The results tend to be really spectacular, but she has to be really careful about where she points the camera due to all of the graffiti. My brother and sister in law get their pictures from her every year, and a couple of years ago they chose Northern State as the location.

The shoot goes well, pictures are awesome, but wife gets a call from my brother asking if she could remove the pair of mirrored cock'nballs graffiti, one red and one blue, from right over their daughter's head in their favorite shot.

She was so focused on light and color correction that she missed the giant dicks in the middle of the picture! Now she wonders how many times this has happened before and the clients just didn't say anything.
 
If Cape Disappointment is the one with all the Lewis and Clark stuff, that gets my vote.
