Fisch said the Best Class Ever shit. It's hyperbole and I think part of it was just him wanting to show how committed he is to recruiting as hard as possible after a couple staffs that were suspected to not reach for the stars. It's more than fair to ask or comment about it.
TBSing was different back then but I assume James, and maybe Lambright years they pulled in some really highly rated classes, maybe Top 5 nationally, and I think Neuheisel's dud of a 2001 class was maybe Top 5.

I might be wrong but I think James' only top 5 class would have been Feb '91
