Barry Bolton's choice for next Coog head coach. And no he's not whooshing us

Holy fucking shit, I don't even know what to say.

Kathi Bennett. You want to become the story of college basketball? Pure and simple, anyone and everyone would be talking about the Cougs from now until next season and beyond if WSU hired a woman to coach the men's hoops team. Bennett has guided three women's programs to the NCAA tournament and has a career winning percentage of .574 (341-253). But beyond the lofty and lengthy PR bump, would she be the best choice for the Cougs? One thing is for sure, she'd bring the pack-line defense with her to Pullman.

I support Barry Bolton. Anytime you can hire a woman who has won a whopping 57% of her games to coach your men's basketball team you have to do it.

At least Ty was the African American coaching candidate with the best FREE PUB resume, even if it was moastly fluff. If you really wanted to hire a woman to coach your men's team you could probably find 50 of them with better resumes. Hiring a woman just to hire a woman is stupid but Bolton wants to compound that by hiring a mediocre woman at that.

Even Pat Haden thinks Barry Bolton's process to identify a coach is fucking stupid.

If a big D-1 school ever hired a women's coach, why would you hire one with a .574 winning percentage that coaches at Northern Illinois? At least name Stanford or Baylor's coach. A coach from a big school that has been to Final 4's and won titles. He makes the Lemon Party Trio seem like they actually know something.

Has Geno Auriemma ever coached men's basketball? I know it wouldn't fit the affirmative action narrative, but if you were going to hire a women's basketball coach, it seems like he'd be the first one you'd ask.

True, but Auriemma makes more money coaching the UConn women than he would the Coog men.

Can she cook?

Wow, the famous "pack-line" defense? I don't know what Moos is waiting for - sign her up before another Men's D-1 program snatches her up (no pun intended).

I'm not sure cooking skills will play into things but you could definitely save some $$ by having her launder the unis and towels.
