I mean, it's going to be expensive. IDK if 8-4 gets him canned at these prices. But the bloom is definitely off the rose with him down there. His performance has even caused recruiting to slip a bit, and that as you know has always been his saving grace.
This feels like a desperation move. From what I saw of Beck, he's inaccurate and panics under pressure. I can't imagine that he will help a team that doesn't have the overall talent of the one he's leaving. I think Miami is in trouble and may be heading back to Manny Diaz-level shit. This season was a mirage because of Ward and a solid running game. He keeps pulling in people from Cuog and Marshall. That doesn't bode well IMHO.

hopefully things are cycling back. in the old days, the SEC was not the place to go find QBs. D lineman, yes. running backs, yes. Not QBs. I remember when Manning chose Tennessee, it was like WTF?

One other thing. As I recall, LSU wasn't Burrow's first choice (Buck off-cast) and Bama wasn't Tua's (I think he wanted west coast). The latter shouldn't really shock anyone because it's not like Saban's run has been predicated on elite QB play. They've mostly been caretakers.

I glanced the top 25 ncaa hoops rankings randomly the other day and I counted 9 SEC teams. Off memory, many of the top teams with UK in the somewhere in the middle. Saban effect I guess
I barely follow CBB anymore, but besides KY, I think the Alabama schools and Tennessee are usually perennial contenders now. Vanderbilt has had good teams over the years and they aren't the doormat they are in foosball. Arkie might be good (they were great in the 90s IIRC).
I also don't underestimate the power of the Disney networks, who overpaid for rights, to overinflate as much as possible, as they do in foosball.
