Just because it didn't work doesn't mean it isn't a brilliant idea to hand the ball to the slowest guy on the team to try and run it 15 yards into the endzone before time runs out.

If it had been Lanning he might have tried the same thing but had him fall down with 2 seconds left with a fake injury to both legs.
 
What was even funnier was it was from 25 yards out AND UA dropped 3 back to guard against the fake and Smith still tried to run it.
