I doubt Arizona State would do that for Oregon but we'll see.

We’re pretty happy with Dillingham so far![]()

I heard that Dillingham was the coffee fetcher and nothing more. Lanning was in charge of kegs.
DeB was in charge of eating. EVERYTHING.

Jesus Christ this is lame. Fucking cringetard boomer.
Nobody is going from OC at Oregon to an HC job of that caliber.I don’t see Dillingham leaving yet. ASU is not the job if you feel something better will come. We don’t even know the penalties yet, but given the severity that the ncaa cracked down on Covid, I bet they’re pretty big. Ride Oregon for two 10 win seasons then bounce to an Auburn, Texas, or Oklahoma.

Definitely not for a couple 10 win seasons.

Oregon put Bellotti into forced retirement, because schools were pursuing Chip Kelly after a couple ten win seasons as Oregon OC.

Texas hired Seven and Auburn hired Harsin. I get that they had experience being shitty head coaches already, but it's not that crazy.

What's the last time a program hired a coordinator from an equivalent school as their HC? It doesn't happen often. Penn State coordinators go to VA Tech and Mississippi State. Clemson OC goes to Virginia. Georgia DC goes to Oregon. USC OC goes to UW. Jimmy Lake was this up and coming hotshot coaching candidate and the best job offer he had to pry him away from UW was Colorado.
Etc etc etc.
Venables is the exception but he had a. rings as DC and b. history at OU.
Coordinators either get promoted at their own program or go down a tier to take over another program. They don't get promoted to HC at lateral programs and they definitely don't get promoted at HC at higher tier programs.
Texas and OU definitely don't view Oregon as their equal. Auburn *maybe*.
