Somewhat to your point, as recently as about 6 years ago I naively thought society was following the trajectory set by MLK, despite what Obama did. Little did I know that the pieces were in place that by 2023 we'd be digressing from MLK's overall message and that the moral decay of our society would become so profoundly rotten.
We now live in a society without consequences. It used to be if you lipped off in public someone would sort your hash and straighten your ass out. If you stole a horse they hung you. If you murdered someone they hung you. Crooks were much more likely to get shot committing crimes.
We now live in a passive reactionless society. Criminals are immediately released even those committing violent crime. Prisons and jails have been emptied onto the streets of our nation via equity beliefs. Kalifornia has released or failed to incarcerate so many that the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Office had to close the men's central jail in downtown L.A. The twin 13 story towers no longer hold prisoners.
Kali put measures on the ballot named the opposite of what they were like the Safe neighborhoods and schools act ,https://www.courts.ca.gov/prop47.htm, this act and a couple others like AB109 emptied the jails and prisons in Kali onto the streets. Three strikes was an unbelievably effective law that was cancelled by the Dims all out assault on it. I can tell you first hand how scared criminals were of this law. All gone! They also released a large number due to COVID! Dims making society far worse. You won't accept the "cure" unless the problem is bad enough. It's communist, Alinsky theory in play.
This was all done purposely. It was all a plan by the Demonrats.
Take care of yourselves. The government shows up after the fact.
