Am I the only guy old enough that had "smokers" in HS?

At my high school in the early 80s we had a boxing event once a year called smokers. Boxing ring and all in the HS gym and it was a yearly event. Did any of you have an event like this in HS? If you had a issue with someone you could box it out.

The blicks at my h.s. used to fight each other while 40-200 of them gathered around. Sometimes it happened in the MacDonald's parking lot. Does that count?
