Petersen said he wants his players to have a better understanding of UW history. It's a start.

Husky Hitman and Rooting From Afar are the only two DJ books I have not read. I will eventually get around to reading both. It seems a little egotistical of Dave to be giving copies of his biography to teach the current players about Husky history. There was a proud history before 90-92, even if those were the glory years. I guess that is probably the book he has control over donating, but Husky Football in the Don James Era seems like it would be a better choice to give Husky players a better understanding. Not to mention it is a fantastic book and a good lesson for a younger Husky Fan like myself who was not around for those years.

Whatever though. As Chest said, you deserve it Derek, and any book on Husky Football is good with me. Maybe I'm off base. As I said, I haven't read the Hoffman one.

You just want access.

I have not made any request for access and have no plans to do so. In fact, the SID won't return most of my messages (related to other issues).

It was my idea and I ran it by Dave and he said let's do it. He's very humble.

The Don James book went through multiple printings and sold out after a few years. I saved about 20 copies for myself, but not enough to donate to the team.

I stand corrected. Good chit, Dave and Derek.
