I know you're being sarcastic, but the Normandy invasion happened in 1944.

PurpleJ's grandfather stormed the beach after the Allies liberated France. I never said it was during World War II.
 
I find it interesting that a guy who writes a book about the troops in the middle east rooting from afar is so keen on mocking the service of a poster's grandfather. And for the record, he was a Korea vet. Too young for WW2. But I'm sure he won't mind because he died of MS when I was young. Dick.
 
Grandpa Yella did storm the beaches of Normandy in 1944. Probably pissed his pants too.
