The reality is that USC fans need to temper their expectations. This isn't the 1970s with John McKay as head coach and unlimited scholarships. Times have changed. It isn't as easy to recruit to USC as it once was, so the last thing the program needs is more instability at head coach. Winning 6 to 8 games per season on average while hopefully maybe competing for a conference title once or twice a decade is nothing to be ashamed of. If there are any USC "fans" who think that's not good enough, then maybe they should pick a new team to root for...like Washington.
