This is what some people fail to include in their butthurt "half share" calculation. The B1G schools spend shit tons of money on EVERYTHING. It was/is even a problem at Ohio State. It's great to fill a stadium for volleyball and shit but that doesn't mean it still isn't lighting money on fire. Everybody has to get lean/smart with their entire AD, they can just burn more on their stupid shit compared to UW.
