It's been known his top 2 are ASU and USC, and that UW hasn't really been on his radar. But he told an A&M reporter on 247 that UW specifically has come on lately and he's been really impressed by the season. Ruth has also been hinting about 2 "secret" 5* guys who have renewed high interest, one of which turned out to be Jaelan Phillips and the other looks like it's Jackson.

I have a little more confidence that Petersen can make a reasonable recruiting pitch opposed to Sark who did shit like rent out a ball room and hang up jerseys with the name of the recruit over them with a PowerPoint presentation to boot.
 
The guy is listed as 6'5" 255 lbs. on Scout as one of the top OTs in the country. He'll need a year with Socha's roids

Good thing that we don't have a coach who incorporates playing true freshmen on the OL in the stategic plan.

If there is one thing we could forever rid ourselves with in the petermon era would be the super secret recruit who never fucking comes to UW.

any team rated top 5 in the country is going to get a "look" from potential high end players, but it's entirely different to really be in the mix for such a player. Until we? start getting top tier players from socal i'll just tune out this BS as the normal click bate for ruth and dm.c

If it was just Ruth or Mr. 81% pressing the rumor, I wouldn't buy it either.

But it's the fact that he was talking to an A&M biased reporter, who was pressing hard on the "Hey so are you still interested in A&M? Are you gonna visit A&M? Please..." shtick. He responded like "maybe, but ASU and USC are still up top for me. Oh and also Washington, I really like them and what they're doing" kinda quote. Bringing up UW out of nowhere while also not hyping up the school of the reporter he's talking to does give a glimmer of hope.
 
Just got confirmed that he's visiting for the ASU game on the 19th.

I'd rather be first AND right.

Unfortunately it still looks likely that he ends up at USC. But like the TSIO crew said on the most recent pod, the fact that our success this season got this 5* kid interested in UW out of nowhere is a tremendous sign.
