I was showing side by side pics of a coach that cared about the Rose Bowl vs one that didn’t vs the guy in the back snickering because he knew he was in way over his head, got paid, and would never sniff the Rose Bowl.

I went to the 93 Rose Bowl because the probation writing was on the wall and wanted to enjoy one more for a while

Went to the 2001 Rose Bowl and thought there would be plenty more

Went to the 2018 Rose Bowl and left with a burning hatred of the entire Petermen program that was about to crater to 8-5 then give us Jimmy and now the MWC all star coaching staff

Good times were had by all

91, 92, 93, & 2001 for me. Thought about making the trip to 2019, but very glad I didn't.

93 RB sucked with Tyrone Wheatley prison-raping our? defense which had dropped off significantly with the departure of Emptermann & co.

*3 years ago today the UW athletic department sent me - a Big W Club member - end zone, nose bleed Rose Bowl tickets.

No shit. I went though UW for the fiesta bowl and paid much more for shitty seats than available elsewhere. For less money I could of had VIP club level seats not in the fucking end zone if I went though the fiesta bowl website. I called my uw ticket person to complain. When I realized I was talking to a 19 year old who had no clue and no power I ate the loss.
 
My dad died shortly after the rose bowl from cancer. That was the last time in his life he could have seen a big uw bowl win. Watched it with him. Life long uw fan alum and professor. Petersen “couldn’t get excited to play in the rose bowl”. Chris Petersen… fuck you to hell and back forever you loser.

I thought in 2001 we were back. And we were. Until upper campus fucked it up, again. What a year that was. I’ve never had as much fun as a fan. Went to every game. Home and away. Magical.

The 2001 Rose Bowl was probably the most fun I've ever had with my clothes mostly on.
