Never did any of these DNA scams. Seemed like a bad idea to give random private businesses my DNA.

Not quite an apples and oranges comparison between the two. The 23andme people at least willingly handed their information over to a 3rd party without duress. Very short-sited of them to do so. Minority Report and Gattaca are probably true stories at some point in the future.
All i have to say is "duh".
