Oregon gave out a scholarship to Tony Dungy's kid and he goes out of his way to pimp their program every time he's on TV (though not in the "secret underground Eugene prostitution ring that only Kim hears about" kind of way.)

We don't want FREE PUB! to win, it's really more of a recuiting tool. For example, when Sark coached USC in the Rose Bowl, everytime the camera was on him the announcers talked non stop about how he is now the head coach at Washington. Millions of potential recruits saw this, and as a result, Sark hauled in a large number of top recruits. Many more in fact than if he would have left USC the minute he was hired and spent 24/7 on recruiting.

That's true while that idiot Mora(Who is going to implode just wait) when hired immediately went to recruiting and was named national recruiter of the year.

Sark though cause he stayed to get FREE PUB! now can use the excuse of that first class doesn't count. Hell I'm hearing you can't really judge this year because we have no 5th year seniors since that class doesn't count.

Very savvy move by Sark. Bought himself another year of excuses from the Doogs while at the time the doogs jerked him off for FREE PUB!

When a coach is hired in December, there really isn't any recruiting that can be done anyway. There is only two months so yes, it is a wasted year. Mora is a horrible example for comparison because at UCLA, you don't really need to recruit, the best players just show up. The place recruits itself.

True, that's why you couldn't fire Ty in december of 2007. We had this MONSTER class that would have fallen apart had you fired Ty at the time. The 0-12 was worth it to have that class.

There's that big dead period where coaches aren't allowed to even think about recruiting or anything related to recruiting.
