My first Rose Bowl win in person. Missed 78 live and saw the DAWGS lose to Michigan the year before

Alexis was there! First trip to the Grandaddy, 2nd to the top row of the Rose Bowel. (I wasn't the high roller at 13 as I am now) I remember the weather was a mediocre upper 50s or so, and young Alexis and the couple of guys he was there with were wearing shorts and swimming in the hotel pool and the locals thought that was the craziest thing in the world. The guys who I was there with were working in Prudhoe Bay Alaska at the time where it was a balmy minus 8 or so, so the pool was just fine.

I do also remember at Husky Stadium, the Greatest Setting, when our Dwags clinched the trip during the Apple Cup, the scoreboard reader flashed up, Bring on the Jayhawks! True story.
